World Cosplay Summit 2015

A lot of people have been writing in telling me how much I suck in general and for not covering the World Cosplay Summit for a second year in a row. Luckily, a ton of other folks have put pictures on "twitter" and other sites.

You can obviously check out these other news sources, but I have found that you basically have to look at hundreds of cute/sexy girl pics before you find an actual cool costume. So if you want to see attractive women wearing next to nothing and trying to embody most men's fantasy, look elsewhere! It's time for the Times to give out some REAL awards!

Handsome Gorilla in Nagoya Zoo

I wouldn't qualify this as actually being news or even a topic people are talking about, but some folks on the internet believe this gorilla at the Higashiyama Zoo in Nagoya is very handsome. There's a little buzz on twitter and he even appeared on the local news.

This yummy hunk of man-gorilla meat is named Shabani. Some have compared him to themselves or other celebrities like soccer player Yoshito Okubo.

Taiwan Ramen Potato Chips

Japanese Food Review #67

 Apparently Taiwan ramen doesn't exist in Taiwan. It was invented by a Taiwanese guy in Nagoya. The original shop, Misen, is right next to Imaike Station, though you can now get it all over Nagoya. It's ramen with green onions, a ton of chili pepper, garlic, and ground pork. Though the Japanese usually don't prefer hot food, this ramen is legitimately spicy. So thank god Koikeya has finally made a Taiwan ramen potato chip.

Ratings: 
Gaybot: 4 There was a little garlic and a little meat flavoring, but mostly it was just chili pepper. The soup is good, but it's not my favorite ramen. This is much worse.
Girlbot: 2.5 She really likes the ramen, and this was not as good as she was expecting.
Overall: 3.25

Maid Cafe in Osu

Mai Leaf (pronounced May Leaf) is a maid cafe in Osu, Nagoya. Basically, the food there is a little expensive, but the waitresses are dressed up like maids and say, "Welcome home husband," when you enter. I really like the idea of all my friends marrying the same girl together, so this is a huge plus for me. Also, if you're a lady, I think they say, "Welcome home princess." I used to think I would never visit a maid cafe, and I still haven't, but recently I've been thinking, "What kind of idiot visits America and doesn't patron a Hooters," you know? It's not actually that expensive. You can for sure get a meal for under 1000 yen. It costs 500 yen to get a polaroid taken of you and the maids (I'm not sure if you can just use your own camera).

This maid cafe has a blog which, surprisingly, just seems to be an ad for the place. You can see all the maids here. They seem to be competing in a "who can position their hands in the most awkward position for a photo contest". Their heights, signs, and blood types are listed, so you can figure out which one you want to marry. Oh, and some of the maids really are participating in the "Coca Cola Happy Smile Contest 2012" and you can vote for them here. That's Asu-san. She either doesn't know what "smile" means, or she's some sort of rebel maid.

The Ugliest Vending Machine in the World?

I couldn't tell if this was supposed to look like stone or plywood.

Disabled Bikers

Are you unable to walk? Simply bike to the train station and park your bicycle in the spot furthest from the door. There's a spot waiting for you.

I came upon this really cozy store the other day. There are so many beautiful decorations. A big poster of a bikini lady, a small poster of a bikini lady, a big, white wolf, a baby white wolf. Maybe I'm an idiot, but I wasn't quite sure what this store was selling.

Of course! It's an energetic medicine specialty store! In other words, they sell products that make you a more ferocious lover. You can check out their website here. Under 医療機器 (medical equipment) they just have two penis pumps. By the way, this place opens up at 9:00am. I recommend getting there at 8:45 to beat the rush.

Parking in Japan

This is a parking lot near The Nagoya Dome. Every time there's a big event, they cram in cars like this. I think this was during an EXILE concert.

Vanilla

This place is right next to Nagoya Station, right by all the other clubs like this.
