Cat & Parm

Just wanted to let you know about my new business Cat & Parm. You probably guessed from the name, but it's a company where I dress up my cat in various Santa outfits and surround him in "snow" (parmesan cheese). I'm not sure about the next step yet. Probably posters where the cat is thinking cute thoughts of baby Jesus. I'll probably need $20,000 to really get started. Please tell me how much you want to invest in the comments. Also, please don't steal my idea.

Ha ha ha, lol!!! If you couldn't tell, the company meant to write Cut & Perm. It really did take me a second to realize it wasn't some sort of cat salon.

It truly is the purrrr-fect crime!

Teruki Goto

Political posters in Japan are often humorous, but this one for the guy running for the mayor of Chiyoda takes it to a different level. You probably couldn't tell from the poster, but this man is likely clinically insane. He's right wing... mostly. Like, he thinks the Nanking Massacre is a fabrication told by foreigners. He wants less foreigners in Japan. Japan should restore its traditional values. That kind of jazz.

But he also has thoughts that don't seem conservative at all. For example, all women should receive free birth control until age 25. This is especially surprising because almost no one in Japan uses birth control and most of the talk is about how to increase the birthrate.

Then he has thoughts that aren't really on anyone's radar. He wants to popularize the use of surgeon robots. He wants to develop a medicine that cures baldness. He thinks Japan should win the FIFA World Cup. You know, the kinds of things mayors control.

He has opinions on everything. If you can read Japanese, you should check out Teruki Goto's site. I've only read maybe 5% and already found these cool facts

Refrain from Skipping

Don't get me wrong, I think it's great that we've finally outlawed skipping, but, at the same time, speed walking, winking, hand gestures, and general frolicking are all more or less accepted as permissible. We still have a long way to go as a society. #justsayin

Side note: The Japanese actually says no skipping rope.

My Husband's Girlfriend

Everyone knows that American television is stale and old. Well thank gosh for the creative minds of the Japanese. This new drama is coming out tomorrow looks wonderful. It's called 夫のカノジョ (otto no kanojo) or Husband's Girlfriend. It's about a 39-year-old housewife who mistakenly thinks her husband is having an affair with a 20-year-old at his office. Already sounds super interesting, right? But then, through a magical twist, the wife and young woman switch bodies! Where do they come up with this stuff!? It's pretty much every male's fantasy of a woman who has your wife's body but the mind of a random 20-year-old girl (way easier to beat at strip poker, etc.). You can see on the poster above that the dad is really upset, but also excited at the prospect of a very unusual Ménage à trois. The little boy in the corner is saying, "Which one's mama?" And the wife is doing the cartoon version of girl angry which is very common on Japanese television.
